K.D On 24th September!!

A.M.Ratnam, the leading producer of Kollywood has a lot riding on this film. It is directed by his elder son Jyothi Krishna with Ravi Krishna the younger son playing the hero. Ravi is said to have improved leaps and bounds as an actor and it his first mass film. The last 20 minutes of the film is said to be the highlight of KD.

Remember that Jyothi’s heroines have reached dizzy heights. Trisha and Shriya the female lead in his debut film Unakku 20 Enakku 18 later became top heroines and now all eyes are on Ileana and Tamanna the new girls in KD.

Ileana has already made it big in Tollywood after her Pokiri with Mahesh Babu became a blockbuster and Tamanna has already signed a few good projects in south. Some of the top superstars in Kollywood want to sign Ileana for their films but she has no dates till next year.

Ileana for the first time appears in a de-glam look in the movie and is expected to be a smooth-sailing for her..

Ileana is back!

lleana took few days rest as she was stressed out with continuous work schedule. She went to Mumbai and enjoyed her work offs at home. That rest brought lots of change in her face. She looks ravishing now . She now resumes shooting for Krishnavamsi directed Rakhi. She will also work for Munna too.

She has completed the work for Jadoo. She may also sign Pawan+ Trivikram combo which is due to start in the beginning of the next month. Rakhee and Mr.Khatarnak are slated for a November 22nd and December 1st release respectively.

Ileana’s new goal is fun at work!

While some successful actresses would be insecure about sharing their screen space with top actresses, ILEANA has no such insecurities. "What's the big deal about acting with other heroines. In fact, it would be fun.

That's why I signed Jadoo, where I share the screen space with TAMANNA. It was fun working with her, and trust me, I spent the most interesting time on the set," she says. Hmm..This statement proves maybe why she has been quite succesful. No big-time show-offs or arrogant behaviour. Way to go Illu!!

Illu Touches 1 Crore!!

After getting back-to-back "BLOCKBUSTER-RANGE" hits, Illu has become the most sought after actress in entire south industry. Producers are queing up for her dates as they believe she has a "Lady-luck" along with her, which makes her click. Whatever maybe it, just as Illu's next film Jadoo gears up for a bi-lingual, simultaneous release, offers have not stopped pouring in.

Busy, currently with the schedule of "MUNNA", Illu has brighter things to look forward to. Ileana recently signed on the dotted line for Surya's next movie directed by vishnuvardhan. Just as things settle, Ileana now has been approached to play the lead role beside no-other than Power star Pawan Kalyan himself.

The movie is tentatively titled "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" and the latest BUZZ surrounding the industry is that, Illu has been offered a whooping rate of 1 Crore!!! If this happens, she will become the highest paid actress now. Hoping that things work out, the movie will commence from October and is slated for a Summer-07 release! More on the movie soon..

MUNNA 's Schedule begins again!

Illu's next project after Jadoo is as you know "Munna". Prabhas plays the lead role and is expected to be a quite an entertainer. From the producer "Dil" Raju who is on a high after the success of his recent venuture "Bommarillu", is back again with Munna. Raju again introduces a new director in the form of Vamsi Padiapalli with Munna.

60 % of the shooting has been completed and people who have seen the rushes and intial-previews can't but rave about the movie. The movie has shaped out quite well and recently, the unit of Munna restarted their shooting. A huge set was erected at Padmala Studios and a quite a good part of the movie is expected to be shot there.

The music by Harris Jayraj also has come out very well and people who have heard the tunes are amused by the peppy numbers. Munna is slated to release in the month of November.

It was earlier reported in our blog that Illu was going to play the lead role in Pawan Kalyan's Immediate movie after "Annavaram" , tentatively titled "Hare Rama Hare Krishna". It is almost confirmed that Illu is pitted to play the lead role beside Pawan.

HRHK, is being directed by the ace-director Trivikram Srinivas which promises to be a "Rollicking affair". It would be a dream combination for Pawan fans, who were quite disappointed with the fact that Pawan didn't have a suitable match in "Bangaram".

The movie is scheduled to begin immediately after the completion of "Annavaram". More news on the movie as soon as they arrive!.

Ileana not in YVS' Okka Moggadu!

When YVS Chowdary, had announced his movie after Devadasu, the industry was abuzz with rumours that Ileana would play the lead role beside Balakrishna. The news was almost confirmed and it was even stated that the dates of "Rakhi" were re-scheduled for Ileana, as she was to play the lead in Okka Moggadu.

But, after Illu recently fainted on the sets of Rakhi, doctors asked her to take it easy. Illu has been hapelessly burdened by too many projects on her hand which caused her to feel really Stressed out.

Hence, the latest on OM is that, Illu has rejected YVS's offer to play the lead role in the movie. Rumour has it that, Illu didn't actually want to act beside Balakrishna. Whatever maybe it, Illu surely knows how to hog the lime-light.

Recently, Illu has signed on the dotted line for Kollywood's Surya's movie.

Jadoo Audio -- Releasing Tommorow! !

The immediate movie after Pokiri as you know is "Jadoo". Illu pairs up with Ravi Krishna ( 7GBC Fame) and also new-comer Tammana. Ravi Krishna's elder brother Jyothi Krishna directs the movie as A.M.Rathnam produces it.

The movie was delayed due to unforeseen reasons and finally sees the light of the day. Jadoo has music by young and famous music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. The audio is scheduled for a release on 26th August i.e Tommorow and promises to have some peppy music.

Going by the posters of Jadoo, the movie seems to be totally dependent on Ileana's Jadoo!. The movie itself was sold in the Andhra Territory after the success of Pokiri. So we'll have to wait and watch the fun!.

Interview : Part II

Personal interests:

Ileana used to sketch a lot (a talent she inherited from her father). "Now I lost touch," she rues. She also used to sing English songs on stage and even auditioned for a band (but the band never took off). "I didn't have any style of my own but I could imitate any singer and sing the song."

She is an avid reader of Sidney Sheldon. "I have read all his books and am waiting for the new one."

Ileana loves being near the water and tried snorkelling too recently and enjoyed it.

If you thought her hour-glass physique is due to workouts, she surprises you by saying, "I am not a gym person. I just do some stretches and some exercises for the abs. Although I am a foodie, I eat in moderation and eat what I like."

Though she is busy acting, Ileana is also pursuing her graduation (2nd year) through correspondence from Bombay University.

Although she has earned name, fame and money, yet her feet are planted in terra firma. "My mother keeps me grounded."

Ileana is happy since she is doing well. I am thankful for what I have got. I want to be the best in what I do," she signs off.

Ileana's Interview !! - Part I

Ileana gives an Interview to rediff.com about the journey from being a model to now becoming the FIRST face in Southern Cinema!

Excerpts from the Interview:

She is the pretty face with an hour-glass figure and oodles of confidence who is rocking Telugu cinema. She was one of the models in the Fair and Lovely ad to be asked by director Rakesh Roshan if she would work in his film.

The lissome Ileana D'Cruz's first Telugu film, Devadasu, brought her notice, and her second film -- the blockbuster Pokiri -- showed she was clearly here to stay.

"I lived in Goa for about seven years. I was in class XII in Goa and the manager of the hotel where my mother worked said I should get into modelling. He fixed up a meeting with (former model) Marc Robinson who was also staying at the hotel. I was not keen to meet him but was persuaded to do so. He suggested I get a portfolio made. So in January 2003, I got my portfolio done. It was a disaster as I had no idea of lighting, poses etc. I just did it. There was nothing planned."

This portfolio won her the first contract -- a series of shoots for Hyatt, especially for their spa at Goa. And Ileana was not too comfy about doing it. "I was completely nervous and I had to do the ad with two other models. I did it and I thought I could go back to my studies. But that brought in more ramp shows. People slowly started noticing me..."

"I didn't know the language, couldn't dance or act. But the director Choudhry had confidence in me and encouraged me, urged me on saying I would make it. It was nerve-wracking and tough. There were so many people on the sets staring at you. I wasn't confident and so I decided I would go with the flow," she says.

"Shooting the songs was tough and though the director put me at ease and was patient, I felt pressured. I almost cried and didn't want to go further. Then my mom gave me the lecture of a lifetime one day at 3 am just after we came back from the shoot. She put sense into me, to give the project the best I could since it was a commitment we couldn't break. I came back because of my mom."

"I was not too keen as Devadasu had not released and I wondered whether I have it in me to do another film. Manjula (who co-produced Pokiri and is Mahesh Babu's sister) was insistent and coerced me to do it. I felt good as I was wanted."Did she have any apprehensions about doing a hero-centric film? "I did have but then I thought I could give it a shot."

"Action director Vijayan master told me my expression in those sequences was important and it was so intense that I got goose-bumps. We went ahead for the second take and after that I was completely shaken that I cried for 15 minutes on the set after the shot." Ileana had a blast shooting for Pokiri. "Puri Jagannath (director) is chilled out and very open to ideas."
